Bihar Colony

Bihar Colony (Urdu: بہار کالونی) is one of the neighborhoods of Lyari Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.

This colony is called Bihar colony Developed 1936 by G.M Syed because at the time of independence of Pakistan in 1947 onwards, Bihari Muslims migrants from the state of Bihar in India came to this place. In more than 84 years, its demography has substantially changed.

There are several ethnic groups in Bihar Colony including Muhajirs, Punjabis, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Seraikis, Pakhtuns, Balochis, Memons, Bohras Ismailis, etc. Over 99% of the population is Muslim. The population of Lyari Town is estimated to be nearly one million.
